As I sit at my desk, working from my home office day after day for the last few years, I have been able to experience the rhythms of nature from my window. Witnessing the seasons change, the newly born, the new residence, familiar faces and the passerby. All come to my window to look at the strange human in his cage.
Conducting work calls, discussing enterprise computer systems, marketing campaigns and how best to solve our tech and business problems at work; I gaze out the window, with my camera at the ready, for the next "coworker" to come by for a visit. With many of the visitors it feels almost like someone coming past my cubical for a chat. A familiar face passing by saying "hello" as they go about their own work.
Being able to look at the world from nearly ground level each day, watching all the wildlife come and go past my window, I recognize how much we are part of nature. Most people would consider us separate from nature, but I think the creatures consider us part of their world no mater what we think.
These photographs are a result of a continuing project that I have been shooting from the same window for the last three years. As of fall 2023. I call it "Coworkers".
